project phases. It excludes 42 canceled projects and phases. When
Cleanview reports a project’s power capacity, the map compares its
estimated annual electricity use with the electricity used by an
average residential customer in the same state. Projects without
capacity information still appear on the map, but without this
comparison.

Dot size: reported capacity
Circle area scales with reported project or phase capacity in megawatts; hollow circles mean capacity was not reported. The electricity-use comparison applies the marker’s assigned state EIA benchmark, assumes 75% utilization throughout the year, and rounds to the nearest 100 residential customers. It is not observed load, a forecast, or the number of customers served. Cleanview markers may represent campuses or phases and may not include every record used on Cleanview’s state summary pages.
